Bugatti 16C Galibier : Fastest car in the world

2012 Bugatti Galibier

2012 Bugatti Galibier luxury sedan, which will be available from autumn 2012 after the expiring Veyron, hopes to brand chief Wolfgang Dürheimer four-digit sales figures.

"The car will have a much higher value than the Veyron - with lots of luggage capacity, and four plus one seat, we calculate current scenarios of 500, 1,000 to 1,500 cars," said Dürheimer the magazine Auto Motor und Sport. "I'm assuming that we can come over the years to a four-digit production number."

The Bugatti Galibier will be powered by a sixteen-cylinder engine which will produce somewhere between 789 and 986 horsepower.

The Galibier will be more practical than the Veyron and Wolfgang Durheimer is announcing that the new model will become the leader in the luxury segment.

According to Bugatti’s President interview with Auto Motor und Sport, the Galibier will be sold in 1.000 – 1.5000 units every year.

The Bugatti Galibier is expected to hit the showrooms in late 2012 and its price won’t be quite cheap. 1.000.000 British pounds (875.000 Euro / 1.440.000 US Dollars) is expected to cost the entry level version of the Galibier.

Considering Bugatti’s supercar, the Veyron, and Volkswagen’s experience in manufacturing cars, future customers of the Galibier will certainly be the happiest drivers in the world.

The sophisticated monocoque contains all the core structural components, including the W16 engine, the passenger cell, the crash box and the linkages to the wheels. It is this purpose-driven fundament that is visible as the center of the car in clear-coated carbon fiber. 

Equally consistent is the use of the aluminum paneling. This lends shape and a unique body sculpture to the car, covering the wheels in a muscular and powerful expression by way of elaborately shaped fenders. Highly polished, these perfectly tensioned shapes strongly visualize the fascinating surface reflections that define every Veyron.

The balanced graphic appearance is also visible when looking down onto the car from above. These qualities take on a distinct appearance - almost like that found in a Mondrian painting.
